Job Description

OATA was founded with the goal of setting a new standard for quality and honesty in the private DMV industry. We are Professional Title Agents who set consistent standards for timely titling solutions so our customers can move on with their day. Our operations are primarily in Florida and Alabama, but we have customers throughout the United States.

We are currently seeking full-time and part-time Automotive Title Clerks for multiple area branch offices and our Orlando corporate office. Automotive dealership and/or Tax Collector's Office experience a plus, but not required. Paid training for 8 weeks in Orlando corporate office, then employee will be assigned to an area branch office based on staffing needs and/or preference.

**PLEASE NOTE - this position will require multiple shifts - candidates must be available and able to work evenings and weekends**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This role performs a variety of technical tasks in the collection, processing, and issuance of motor vehicle, vessel, and mobile home registration and titles. Work is performed with a wide latitude of judgment in accordance with statutes, laws, policies, procedures and ordinances under the general supervision of a manager and higher-level administrative officials.

Provides direct assistance to the public by mail or telephone in the issuance of license plates, titles and collection of sales taxes.

Provides direct assistance to dealers in-person, by mail or telephone in similarly related transactions.

Collects and validates payment for titling transactions, and maintains and balances a cash drawer.

Processes applications for tag, title, registration transfers/renewals, personalized plates and stolen/lost plates for cars, trucks, tractors, trailers, motorcycles, motor homes and mobile homes which may require the detailed review of certain documents, appropriate signatures for accuracy and/or research through FRVIS or NMVTIS system for completeness.

Processes transactions for dealerships and companies with large fleets of vehicles.

Inspects work for accuracy and identifies and advises personnel to correct any discrepancies for transaction processing.

Audits all transactions to determine accordance with Department of Motor Vehicle procedures, State statutes and appropriate codes, and to ensure documents contain needed signatures and/or notarization.

Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Performs all other duties as required and assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

Ability to type minimum of 35 wpm

Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of administrative and operational matters/workflow

Ability to work with limited supervision on routine and non-routine administrative support tasks

Make calculations using business mathematics

Effective listening skills and superior attention to detail

Strong customer service skills, problem solving capabilities, well organized

Preferred Skills, Education and/or Work Experience:

Bilingual in English/Spanish

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university and/or relevant applied experience

1-2 years of applied experience in a Tax Collector's Office and/or car dealership

1 year of cash-handling experience

Highly proficient data entry skills

Prior experience with FRVIS a plus

Experience with processing vehicle titles, registration and/or dealer work
