This position for the Orange County Corrections Fiscal Operations processes and has accountability of inmate cash and property transactions, balancing of daily cash transactions, movement and inventory of property, filing and data entry. Work is performed under the general direction of the Money Room Supervisor or Senior Fiscal Clerk and is reviewed for compliance with desired results.
This is a 12 hour work night shift position, 6pm to 6am inside the Orange County Correctional Facility.
Controls and has security and accountability of inmate funds and property.
Receives, inventories and receipts inmate funds and property at time of booking, processes fund deposits/releases and property release requests to/from the public and the final release of funds and property upon inmate discharge.
Researches fund and transaction report discrepancies and property discrepancies.
Receives, reviews, processes, and files other transactions, property and documents, such as bank deposit documents, medical and transportation charges, system receipts, incoming court clothes, delivery of court clothes, property release documents, etc.
Updates inmate records of property and cash transactions utilizing computer, adding machine and manual card file.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
May be assigned to work weekends and holidays.
High school or equivalent and two years’ experience as a teller, cashier or closely related experience.
Basic computer knowledge and office skills.
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver’s License
Experience working inside a Correctional environment.
Experience with handling inventory of items.
This will be a night shift position, 6 pm to 6 am with rotating days off. This position requires a uniform. The uniform will be issued by the Corrections Department.
Physical Demands of this position include:
Walking and standing: up to 12 hrs/day on concrete flooring
Sitting: up to 12 hrs/day on adjustable, ergonomic chair
Maximum lifting: up to 40 lbs on a regular basis
Pushing/pulling: rolling property cart & flat beds containing inmate property (some weighing as much as 120 lbs.)
Bending/squatting: retrieving of property bags from shelving units and laundry carts
Reaching: over head up to 7 feet
Climbing: Ladders to reach up to 12 feet as needed
Any offer of employment will be contingent on meeting the Hiring Standards of the Corrections Division Level II Background screening that includes polygraph, fingerprints, criminal history-to include driving record, physical and drug test and verification of any required documents.
