Works closely with and supports the Finance team to execute all activities associated with accounting and reporting for tithe & offerings, bank deposits, volunteer management, and any other related duties.

Strong Knowledge of accounting principles in a church (non-profit) environment.
Volunteer Leadership with proven ability to recruit and encourage volunteer and manage scheduling for days to serve. Schedule and supervise volunteers.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Skillful in analyzing bank transactions and creating required entries in accounting software to record into appropriate bank and general ledger account.
Relationally astute to discern and handle sensitive issues, managing conflict biblically and maintaining confidentiality.
Communicate and assist givers as needed with requests and information. Communication skills (by email, telephone and personal/verbal) with givers, co-workers and finance volunteers with a high degree of sensitivity and emotional maturity.
Accounting for monetary gifts (cash, checks and online credit, debit and ACH giving).
Accounting transactions and reconciliations of accounts. Cash management for deposits to bank accounts.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
5 years in office environment which included supervising others, accounting duties and analysis, and spreadsheet creation and maintenance, nonprofit experience preferred.
Associates degree in accounting or business management or experience equivalent.
System/Software:
Experienced in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Experience with Check scanning programs.
Experience with donation tracking software such as PushPay, Blackbaud Raisers edge or equivalent, is preferred
