PVE is looking for an energetic Survey Technician that will assist the Survey Crew Chief with collecting field data and information needed for survey maps and CAD documents. The technician is responsible to provide field support to the Crew Chief while on duty.

Responsibilities

Utilizing surveying equipment (i.e., GPS, Total Station, level, data collector, etc.) to collect data for preparation of surveys.
Takes direction from Survey Chief for daily tasks.
Assists in construction layouts by coordinating data and setting stakes.
Assists in obtaining invert and subsurface information.
Assists in photo documentation of project area.
Reviews equipment inventory list prior to each shift and checks off each item as returned at end of each shift.
Responsible for ensuring all items are returned to assigned locations at end of shift.
Maintains equipment, initiates equipment repairs as needed, and reports any equipment issues to Survey Chief.
Maintains company field vehicle, to include keeping vehicle properly stocked, clean and organized.
Reports a vehicle issue to the PVE Management Team.
Recommends new ideas and approaches to promote continuous improvement.
Assists with office filing, data download, and electronic file management as needed.
Keeps current on surveying practices, guidelines, and best practices

Qualifications

Minimum High School Diploma. Associate's Degree in Surveying Technology or higher is a plus.
Valid Driver's License
Must possess basic understanding of measurements, math, field notes and plan interpretation
Ability to work in a team environment, self-motivated and have the desire to learn
Pay rate depends on experience and certifications
