The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Community Engagement Manager with aspects of the Citizens’ Commission for Children’s community engagement efforts to primarily connect families to community services, assess needs, planning and implement outreach strategies.

The individual will possess considerable knowledge of community activities and needs for children and families.


Works closely with community partners, stakeholders, and board members to remain up to date with new services/programs in the community.
Links residents to community resources based on need including but not limited to following up with programs to ensure needs were met.
Develops an annual community engagement and resource development plan.
Updates CCC Directory on an ongoing basis.
Develop and disseminates Nonprofit Exchange quarterly
Assists with coordinating and managing events, community outreach, and engagement programs as needed.
Collects data on community information, demographic characteristics, growth patterns, and community plans and other information affecting children and families by participation in meetings or by correspondence.
Manages the referral tracking system.
Develops weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as needed.
Files and sorts, keeps records, maintains files, types and initiates correspondence, memoranda, reports and contracts and other documents.
May order and/or gather supplies and deliver to program areas. May set-up/breakdown participant program areas.
Assists at community events as assigned.


Knowledge of community engagement and resource development.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Strong customer service and organizational skills.
Strong computer competency and document management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with others.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and uphold confidentiality.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
Ability to operate common office equipment, including a computer, 10-key calculator.
Ability to gain knowledge of all areas of the Agency.

Graduation from an accredited two year college with an AA Degree, with courses in social, human or family services or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two (2) years experience in performing clerical duties.
Experience in a social service/community collaborative setting preferred.
Knowledge of MailChimp, WebEx, Canva, Survey Monkey, or closely related platforms preferred.
Strong oral and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent organizational ability.
Proven problem-solving ability, and time management skills
Experience in a collaborative culture.
Bilingual – knowledge and ability to communicate in the Spanish or Creole language both verbally and in writing is preferred but not required
Ability to work flexible schedule with some weekends and evenings

(A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications.)


Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License and daily access to reliable transportation to and from work and for travel to off-site locations.


Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel to multiple off-site locations.
May be required to sit for extended periods of time while performing job functions.
Ability to access file cabinets for filing and retrieving data.
Must possess auditory, verbal and visual capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone and in person.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35 pounds
Must be able to transport materials and deliver to program areas


Office environment.
May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays, when needed.
4C functions as an agent of the Orange County Government, in regards to the management and operational decisions affecting all community engagement employees and locations.

PAY GRADE: 7 $16.00 TO $18.50 per hour
