Coordinates and facilitates all aspects of marketing campaigns, event planning, and special projects as assigned. Serves as a liaison to internal and external customers.

Essential Functions:

    Develops project work scopes and serves as a project manager on projects and programs as assigned. Maintains accurate files and works with staff to develop schedules of completion for specific projects including an in-depth planning outline and complete budget outline. Identifies goals and objectives for each assigned project; coordinates, maintains and reports project performance measures which are viable and tied to operational initiatives. Ensures quality and timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards from approval to presentation to completion.
    Assists with coordinating efforts on multiple projects; coordinates with all LYNX departmental programs and projects impacting the operational initiatives of the department and organization, including financial accounting and budgeting activities for each assigned project.
    Coordinates activities with all government levels, private, public, social services, not-for-profit, and other companies or organizations to facilitate and implement all aspects of LYNX services based on the operational initiatives representing the department and organization.
    Participates in tradeshows, expositions, or other related business or community events as assigned.
    Writes copy for marketing materials including flyers, memos, etc. and edits for maximum effectiveness and accuracy. Takes the lead on writing, editing, and photo selection for the company newsletter.
    Develops, maintains, and presents a strategic community communication and outreach program servicing the community and specific market segments. Communicates and acts as a clearinghouse with neighborhood and special interest requests.
    Develops external PowerPoint presentations for the agency.
    Stays up-to-date with organizational plans, programs, policies and procedures; and keeps abreast of current trends in marketing and advertising.
    Submits required contracts and detailed purchase orders to ensure timely purchase of services with all steps covered from creation to completion of purchase order. Selects and orders merchandise/promotional items for the agency.
    May, on occasion, step in and serve as LYNX spokesperson for media relations when the Director of Marketing Communications is unavailable.
    Serves as backup to Interactive Marketing Specialist with oversight of social media channels.
    Provides input and assists with the annual departmental budget preparation for the upcoming fiscal year.
    Researches facts and confirms data using various sources.
    Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, or a closely related field plus a minimum of three years of experience working on special projects, public relations, or events marketing; or a combination of related education, training, and experience.

Desired Qualifications:

    Basic knowledge of social media.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

    Knowledge and understanding of principles, practices and strategies of marketing, promotions, advertising, and public relations; team building, volunteer recruitment, and meeting facilitation.

    Knowledge and understanding of principles and practices of business methods, budget management, purchasing, and accounting.
    Knowledge of community resources in the government, public, and private sectors.
    Knowledge of coordinating and executing services and programs that are developed to respond to the needs of the community.
    Skilled in research techniques, report generation, and project management.
    Skilled in public speaking; developing and making presentations; and presenting ideas clearly and concisely.
    Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple assignment efficiently within established deadlines.
    Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
    Ability to work in a diverse environment.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.

Work Environment and Special Considerations:

    Will attend events outside of regular business hours throughout Central Florida.
    Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
    Must have a safe driving record.
