The Role

The Director of Philanthropy plans and coordinates all aspects of national outreach and charitable giving efforts aligned to Christian Care Ministry’s (CCM) mission and vision.

This role develops strategic relationships with aligned organizations and individuals to help further the mission of CCM and manages the organization’s donation/giving activities. Another key area of focus will be creating engagement of CCM audiences (members, care providers and employees) to our national outreach and charitable giving strategies.

The Director of Philanthropy will design, develop and coordinate major public relations and community events using highly developed networking and communication skills. Working directly with organization leadership, this role will serve as an ambassador for the CCM mission and develop marketing and communication materials that establish and maintain external relationships with key stakeholders including CCM audiences.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and implement an integrated strategic plan to advance CCM’s brand identity through national outreach partners and donors; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities, and manage CCM’s contributions financially to outside organizations
Develop and foster relationships with faith-based organizations that CCM may seek to support financially or seek to support our foundation.
Create a public relations strategy that will allow CCM leadership to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including organizations and individuals.
Use experience in nonprofit fundraising/fund development strategies to cultivate relationships with donor recipients and drive fundraising efforts.
Proactively develop and maintain donor relationship management systems and metrics to provide executive level reporting to CCM leadership on effectiveness of programs.
Oversee development of all CCM communications related to gifts, fundraising and philanthropic development activities.
Partner with CCM senior financial leaders to assess and establish a CCM Foundation.
Serve as a spokesperson and primary point of contact for media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization’s giving and philanthropic endeavors.
Exercise judgment to prioritize media opportunities, and prepare talking points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting material as needed.
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the philanthropy function including budgeting, planning, and staff development
Demonstrate advanced communication and marketing skills to drive donor results.
Contribute to the exercise and expression of the Ministry’s Christian beliefs

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of 7+ years with a successful track record of donor development and fundraising from a variety of sources.
5+ years of established major gifts fundraising experience, preferable in the Christian and/or nonprofit space.
Experience in faith based outreach programs and connecting audiences to those causes with their time, talents and finances.
Nonprofit fund development strategic planning and managing, developing and supervising others in a high performance team
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in related field (marketing, communications, fundraising, etc), CFRE preferred, Master’s Degree preferred
