Business Development Manager - US Magnetics
Exxelia USA is looking for a self-driven leader to develop our passive Magnetic component business in the US market.
Within Exxelia, the Business Development Manager (BDM) is at the heart of everything that happens within a particular Product Line, in this case, Magnetic devices (including transformers, inductors, and related assemblies) in the North American Market).
The BDMis in charge of business development through the capture of new opportunities, and through the growth of ongoing business activities and historical accounts; guides and directs the Sales and Engineering functions during the prospecting, sales pipeline, and new product development processes; guides and collaborates with the R&D team to develop and maintain technology and product roadmaps; decides on which opportunities to pursue, or not; is responsible for setting prices and answering requests for quotations and proposals in a timely and professional manner; develops product pricing and account-based pricing strategy, with approval of Finance; GBU executives, and the Exxelia USA General Manager.
The Business Development Manager has three main roles:
A Sales Support/Sales Driving & Project Management Role:
Drives the sales efforts and the acquisition of new customers for the Magnetic business unit in the North American (NA) Market; Grows the Magnetics business unit sales pipeline in NA and ensures diligent opportunity follow-up and support; Trains Exxelia USA Sales Managers, Manufacturing Reps, and Distributors on the Magnetics product portfolio offering, value propositions, and target markets; Drives the Manufacturing Reps Network and Regional Sales Managers towards the best opportunities, for efficiency and performance;
Influence customers and their requirements by presenting alternative technologies, approaches, and solutions that best align with Exxelia’s value proposition; Propose product pricing to finance and management, taking into account raw material costs, labor hours, target margins, and price and market positioning; Consolidate the timely response to RFQ’s (in collaboration with sales and customer service).
A Product Portfolio Management Role:
Research and identify market trends, prospects, product lines, customers, and competitors; Disseminate market, customer, and competitive information and intelligence to internal stakeholders; Develop the Magnetic Technology & Product Road Map, in collaboration with Engineering and R&D teams.
A Strategic Management Role: Consolidate information related to markets and business results; Sets yearly Bookings (order intake) budget; Participate in Strategic Business Planning and Reporting.
Key Performance Indicators: Order Intake (Bookings $) New Designs-In Count US Magnetic Product Line Contribution Margin
Passive magnetic component/device technology knowledge (transformers and inductors) is a must; At least 5 years of experience with Defense; Civil Aviation or Mass Transportation manufacturing markets.
Bachelor or Masters of Science in Engineering (preferred) or Business; Excellent communicator with strong verbal, written, and listening skills; Strong team player, and leader Strong negotiation and persuasion skills desired; Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time.
Reporting Line: The Magnetics BDM reports to the US Deputy Vice President, Magnetic GBU.
