IMA Medical Group is seeking to hire a full-time MRA Specialist. The MRA Specialist will review documents to support IMA's risk adjustment initiatives, which results in improving quality of care, support to contracted health plans, and identification of cost-saving opportunities. This position comes with a typical schedule of 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, but will require evenings depending on the need.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MRA SPECIALIST
Codes, abstracts and analyzes medical records using International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision (ICD-10-CM) for CMS risk adjustment purposes.
Follows the Official ICD-10 guidelines for Coding and Reporting and has a complete understanding of the guidelines.
Follows CMS risk adjustment guidelines and has a complete understanding of the guidelines.
Performs retrospective and concurrent chart reviews.
Must have excellent understanding of medical terminology, disease process and anatomy and physiology.
Assesses and interprets whether the coding assigned is proper based on review of the medical documentation and coding guidelines.
Ensure diagnosis codes for each chronic or major medical condition have been captured and supported by documentation guidelines for coding and reporting to CMS.
Uses knowledge of HCC coding to translate, extract, validate and input medical record data.
Fields any questions or concerns and provide solutions that will mirror management's guidelines.
Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of coding guidelines and relevant federal regulations through the use of current ICD-10-CM manual and other relevant material.
Meets productivity and accuracy standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Associates' Degree or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 4 years professional medical coding experience.
1 year of experience in Medical Coding (ICD-10).
Certification required (CPC, CCS)
Proficient in use of computer, including MS-Outlook, Word and Excel (Windows PC Applications)
Detail oriented and able to work efficiently.
Must be able to perform daily procedures, meeting high quality standards and using his/her independent judgment following standards and regulations.
Working knowledge of ICD-10.
Travel to other area clinics in the Central Florida area.
Bilingual Conversational Spanish/Strong English is preferred but not required.
