Executive Director, Leonard and Marjorie Williams Family YMCA
The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual who is seeking the next step in their YMCA operations leadership career as the Executive Director of the NEW Leonard and Marjorie Williams Family YMCA located near downtown Orlando / College Park community known as the “Packing District”. This brand new YMCA facility is expected to be completed in June, 2022. Click here to learn more about this exciting new Y. We are hiring for this role prior to completion of the facility in order for the incumbent to provide leadership with the ongoing planning, community partnerships, attending meetings, staff hiring, fundraising efforts, board development, operation and program planning stages. The expected staff size will be approximately 60 team members, they will build and develop a strong volunteer board of 20 key individuals, lead the annual fundraising efforts of $200K + and manage the expected operating budget of $3.5M +.
The Executive Director must be an experienced operator with a proven track record in operations leadership for a full-service YMCA or related industry with comparable budget responsibilities and proven success in membership development and program development. They will manage the overall operations of the Family Center, including staff and programs. Supervises, develops and implements a full range of services including Membership Development, Wellness, Aquatics, Sports, Camp and Family Programs such as Child development/Teens, Facilities Management, Annual Support / Scholarship and Board Development. Candidates will be challenged to provide a successful track record in comparable fiscal management including the growth of revenue dollars and the execution of innovative programming.

To be successful, you must meet education, training and experience requirements, and you must be able to demonstrate some critical knowledge, skills, and abilities:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; management, operations management, sport business management or related field of study preferred. Master’s degree a plus.
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a senior operations management role for a YMCA or related industry required. Responsibilities for at least $2M + in membership revenue; plus related programming experience required.
Related operations leadership experience for a new YMCA facility, including staff and program planning, a plus.
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience with fiscal management, membership growth and retention, fundraising including annual giving, program management, community relationship building, and facility care required.
Proven experience managing and recruiting key volunteer boards and community leadership / committees required.
Must have proven related experience leading operations of comparable revenue; with positive trends year over year in membership acquisition and retention.
Proven experience implementing innovative solutions for improving payroll management; resulting in a positive impact to the bottom line.
Proven success in staff selection, coaching and development within the health & wellness industry.
Microsoft Office proficiency required; Salesforce and Playerspace experience a plus.
Must be able to collaborate, engage and work with diverse populations.
Residency expectation: Should reside within the service area of the College Park / Packing District community within 3 – 6 months of hire preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical activities of this position include: Talking is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, with or without correction.
The employee must be able to perform light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity, along with the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures. The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
