The Position:
Position General Summary:

In partnership with executive and senior leadership teams, the Director of Strategic Growth is responsible for centralizing and leading long-term and short-term strategy formation, development, and execution. In collaboration with senior leadership stakeholders, this position will lead the execution of strategic initiatives in a rapid and effective manner to drive strategic value and growth for the organization. The Director of Strategic Growth will also partner with the senior leadership team to drive organizational growth through innovation in new business opportunities/models, new products and services development, process improvements, and strengthening the financial structure of the organization. The Director of Strategic Growth will be responsible for accelerating and ensuring smart measurable growth within the education space with an emphasis in online learning.

Essential Position Functions:

Leads the development and execution of long-term and short-term corporate growth strategies and strategic plans and initiatives in collaboration with key members of the senior leadership team.

Analyzes and recommends new opportunities-based industry trends, competitive intelligence, viability of prospective partners, capital sources, and internal capabilities.

Directs and coordinates new business growth with hands-on engagement throughout all business development life cycle milestones.

Develops and leads Research and Development strategy that can drive market requirements.

Collaborates with AAA Departments (Research, Analytics & Insights, and Data Services) on research and data analysis required for feasibility studies to test new ideas against alignment to strategy with desired results.

Holistically assess the organization’s analytical, financial, and economic portfolio to evaluate new opportunities through competitive analysis, financial analysis, market analysis, performance analysis, technology platforms, public policy landscape and strategic fit.

Translates organizational strategy from big picture to pragmatic view and actionable plans for each department; administer and oversee consistent application of decisions.

Presents strategic initiatives to executive stakeholders, Board of Trustees, and other key stakeholders in the organization.

Develops, mentors, and retains a high performing team.

Provides inspiring leadership through thought leadership, operational excellence, performance orientation and collaboration throughout the organization.

Leads and manages assigned direct reports for continual improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of the group, as well as ensuring team members have access to professional growth within the organization

Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others

Minimum Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, analytics, economics, marketing, or related field required.

Master of Business Administration preferred


7+ years business strategy experience

5+ years organizational experience managing teams

Effective leadership and collaboration skills, a strong understanding of the market, and the drive and experience to help lead an organization through a period of growth.
