PRIMARY DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Director of Finance to provide leadership, guidance and direction to the Finance Department in the planning, directing and controlling of financial functions for various church ministries and departments to ensure that finances are managed according to policy, procedures and generally accepted accounting principles. This Individual should be an active and dedicated Christian who Is a member of Northland Church or willing to become one.

COMPETENCIES:
Meet regularly with staff to provide direction and ensure timely and accurate outcomes in the administration of accounts payable, payroll, benefits administration, and the recording of contribution and program revenues.
Manages accounting and financial systems ensuring accuracy.
Conducts financial analysis and prepares financial reports.
Establish and maintain adequate cash and internal controls.
Monitors, evaluates, and advises on the fiscal performance of Northland compared to budget and forecast.
Develops a reliable cash flow projection process ensuring cash availability to meet operating needs.
Work with Department heads and Executive leadership to develop the annual budget.
Report to the Finance committee on a regular basis, providing monthly financial statements. Maintains compliance with banking relationships and debt provisions.
Manage the renewal of all insurance including Group insurance and Property and Causality.
Manage the 403(b)‐retirement program including quarterly updates and yearly reviews of both the program administrators and the investment options.

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required. Master’s degree a plus.
10+ years of experience in accounting with 5 years in a leadership role, nonprofit experience preferred.
CPA, CMA and/or nonprofit accounting or administration certification preferred.
