As a Safety Professional, you will be an important resource. You will drive the identification, assessment, analysis, and solving of a broad spectrum of safety and ergonomic issues across a diverse group of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts businesses.

The Safety Professional (Ergonomics) will report to a Manager of Safety.

What You Will Do

On any given day, as a Safety Professional (Ergonomics), you might:

Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
Drive the implementation of safety and ergonomic programs, performing job task analysis, facility, and design/modifications, analyzing injury and illness trend data, evaluating safety performance, and finding opportunities to improve safety and ergonomics performance.
Lead the development and implementation of ergonomic strategies and tactics.
Perform ergonomic evaluations to identify risk and develop solutions.
Improve performance, review source material (rules, codes, laws, and standards) identify and share industry practices
Ensure implementation of Disney programs, applicable safety standards and established regulations.
Manage relationships and work as part of a team within a matrix environment with all levels of leadership and employees.
Analyze injury and illness data, prepare presentations on trends and mitigation plans, then share them with your peers/leaders.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:

3+ years of safety and ergonomics experience in a related industry such as maintenance, manufacturing, hospitality, entertainment/theatrical, transportation, distribution/warehousing.
Knowledge and hands-on application in regulatory standards, best-practices and guidelines, such as ergonomics, incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
Experience with strategic thinking, prioritization, and initiation of tasks
Experience with proper writing, speaking, and presenting to all levels of employee.
Resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations.
Experience with assessing, analyzing, identifying, and solving body motion and ergonomic issues across a diverse group of Disney Parks and Resorts businesses.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in the entertainment/hospitality industry
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
Board Certification in Professional Ergonomics (BCPE)
Bi-lingual language skills

Education

Bachelor's Degree in occupational safety/or health, industrial hygiene, life science, physical science, or engineering.

Preferred Education

Advanced degree in Ergonomics or Human Factors Engineering
