Medical Laboratory Technician Program

DESCRIPTION:

The Project Manager – Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program directs activities related to the development of the MLT program including monitoring grant deliverables, collaborating with facilities on laboratory renovations, working with vendors to purchase lab equipment, developing the program curriculum, and marketing the program to high school and college students as well as the broader community. Additionally, the Project Manager prepares the program for initial accreditation candidacy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution, preferably in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a closely related field.

2. Three years of management or supervisory experience.

3. Florida Generalist Technologist licensure or supervisor.

4. National Certification (ASCP, AAB, or AMT) as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist.

5. One (1) year experience in managing projects in healthcare or laboratory settings.
