General Description. This position within the Accounting/Finance Department will develop and administer the Division’s financial activities under the direction of the Division Controller.
Key Duties
Prepare workpapers for outside tax consultants
Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple states
Review and analyze assets for purposes of tangible personal property reporting
Prepare and file tangible tax returns
Maintain current state registrations, including filing the annual reports and business licenses
Register in other states, as needed
Prepare various informational returns
Research various tax matters and assist in complex tax matters, as necessary
Respond to various tax notices
Qualification Requirements

Accounting degree, CPA preferred
3-5 years of tax experience CIT, SALT and TPPT; payroll taxes a plus
Analytical mindset and detail oriented
Communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing
Work both independently and with others, as necessary
Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to review work for accuracy and neatness
Think independently and develop solutions to problems
Excellent computer skills including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word); SAP and FAS/SAGE experience preferred
Ability to work 40 hours per week
Must be able to work overtime as required by work flow
Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an Tax Accountant to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Frequent ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
Frequent ability to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone;
Frequent ability to operate standard office equipment, using hand and arm dexterity;
Frequent vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Infrequent ability to navigate through office environment, including periodic use of stairs and/or elevator, as needed;
Infrequent ability to lift general office documents and materials, up to 10 pound.
Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Tax Accountant encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Work is performed predominately indoors.
