Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment & Student Affairs, the Executive Director of Student and Career Engagement will lead a comprehensive portfolio of services and programs focused on student belonging, development, career alignment and readiness, and local workforce development. This role will prioritize student completion and career progression with direct responsibility for the areas of Student Life, Student Leadership & Development, Student Activities, Career Services, Internships, and Student Employment.
Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating and Celebrating.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Implement a cohesive Student and Career Engagement framework that prioritizes student persistence, completion, and career progression, including job placement for Workforce programs.
Supervise, coach, and develop team members to positively impact and enhance the student experience, including staff and student leaders in the areas of Student Life (Clubs, Organizations, Intramurals, and SGA), Student Leadership & Development, Student Activities, Mentoring, Career Services, Internships, and Student Employment.
Design and implement an integrated model focused on development and career alignment for students across all campuses and online, including effective assessment of efforts to gauge impact on student persistence, completion, and placement.
Administer programming and resources that support professionalism, soft skills development, and increased employ-ability for students.
Build collaborative partnerships with Academic Affairs, Workforce Programs, and other College departments, along with community partners, to align student activities and employment opportunities with industry career preparation.
Plan and coordinate campus events with workforce partnerships to include career and employment fairs and professional association visits.
Execute the strategic planning and tracking processes for post-graduation data collection and job placement, including system reporting integrations utilizing the College’s CRM.
Provide oversight and direction for area and student activity fee budgets.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of modern student and career development practices.
Keeps abreast of trends and issues in higher education related to career preparation and student affairs.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to effectively supervise and develop professional staff.
Minimum Qualifications & Education
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in student engagement, career services, or related areas.
A doctoral degree is preferred.
