2nd Run Driver/Utility Associate
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Provide operational support to the warehouse and transportation departments by pulling, packing and delivering 2nd run orders in an accurate and timely manner, grading and repack of produce, assisting with warehouse functions, and performing other duties at the request of the Supervisor or Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Run 2nd run routes effectively, meeting or exceeding designated delivery windows
Responsible for calling in to dispatch every 3rd stop, when the customer does not receive their entire order, or with customer complaints and concerns
Handle company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, and perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections
Strict adherence of all State and Federal traffic laws
Handle customer complaints professionally
Pull & palletize/pack customer orders in a manner that assures the selection of the highest quality product and packing/palletizing that product correctly to avoid damage
Inform Manager or Supervisor immediately with any concerns about the quality of our product
Ensure that all products are loaded on the correct vehicle in the correct delivery sequence
Ensure that all vehicles being loaded with power equipment have wheels chocked for safety
Grading and re-pack of produce items
Provide assistance to day warehouse team when needed
Safe operation of forklift and motorized pallet jack
Keep work areas neat and clean at all times
Strict adherence to all safety rules and policies
Report accidents/injuries immediately to Supervisor or Manager
Adherence to work schedule and attendance policy; ability to work overtime if needed
Other duties as assigned
Hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am-7:00 pm. Tuesday and Sunday off
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
NO DUI convictions
Maximum of 3 points on MVR
No chargeable accidents in the last 5 years
Knowledge of delivery area.
Proven ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels within the organization
Ability to perform simple arithmetic; experience with money handling preferred
Familiarity with shipping practices
Forklift and motorized pallet jack experience preferred
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Keen eye for detail and the ability to multi-task
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Valid FL Class A or B CDL
1 year verifiable route delivery or equivalent experience operating a manual straight truck
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior delivery driver experience highly desired.
Knowledge of service area required.
This position requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements in wrists and arms on a frequent basis. This position requires the ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. during the shift, infrequent lifting up to 80 lbs. Frequent bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must pass federal Department of Transportation physical exam requirements and obtain DOT certification. Must be able to wear appropriate safety equipment and shoes.
Warehouse/cooler environment (30 degrees F° – 60 degrees F°)
