The Opportunity:

UCF’s Student Success and Well-Being Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) is seeking applicants for a Maintenance Technician II. This role performs and conducts maintenance and preventive maintenance for the RWC buildings and equipment. This person may be assigned as the lead in the absence of the Maintenance Superintendent. This position /classification may be moved at managements' discretion within SSWB division to a commensurate level position as determined by the VP of SDES of his/her designee.

This is an Auxiliary-funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Maintenance Superintendent with ordering of supplies and equipment.

Conduct preventive maintenance programs for indoor facilities and equipment.

Maintain heating and air conditioning equipment.

Maintain, and repair or replace various parts and equipment of the plumbing system.

Installs and maintains electric motors, generators, and related electrical and mechanical components of the electrical and mechanical systems in building.

Repair and/or refinish walls, floors, windows, and ceilings as necessary.

Assist with painting and lining fields for Intramural & Sports Club programs and special events.

Provide support for facilities and programs.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades and 3 years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of building mechanical, plumbing, & electrical systems

Able to read building plans and schematics

Supervisory skills

Knowledge of pools (Certified Pool Operator)

Knowledge of fitness equipment

Certified First Aid/CPR/AED

Health Assessment Required:

The UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
