Overview

To provide timely and accurate code and standards compliance during the construction and/or renovation of all building projects in conformance with the contract documents consistent with district goals.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Provisional:

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in the field of construction or a related field and experience which totals four (4) years, with at least one (1) year of experience in construction, building code inspection or –
High School Diploma or technical/vocational education in the field of construction or a related field and experience which totals four (4) years with at least one (1) year of experience in construction, building code inspection
Must be able to obtain Florida Building Code Inspector Certification (FL468.609) within 120 days from date of hire and a standard license within one (1) year of employment in one (1) construction disciplines (Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical). Training will be provided by OCPS.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license

Inspector I:

High School diploma or technical/vocational education in the field of construction or a related field and experience which totals four (4) years, with at least one (1) year of such total being experience in construction, building code inspection.
Must possess a State of Florida standard license as a Building Code Inspector in at least one (1) discipline of either Building, Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.

Inspector II:

High School diploma or technical/vocational education in the field of construction or a related field and experience which totals four (4) years, with at least one (1) year of such total being experience in construction, building code inspection.
Must possess a State of Florida standard license as a Building Code Inspector in at least two (2) disciplines of either Building, Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license

Inspector III:

High School diploma or technical/vocational education in the field of construction or a related field and experience which totals four (4) years, with at least one (1) year of such total being experience in construction, building code inspection.
Must possess a State of Florida standard license as a Building Code Inspector in at least two (2) disciplines of either Building, Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license

Senior Inspector:

High School diploma or technical/vocational education in the field of construction or a related field and experience which totals four (4) years, with at least one (1) year of such total being experience in construction, building code inspection.
